1. Dan began with a description of a wedding. Describe the best wedding you've ever attended and what made it so memorable. 2. What is your definition of a miracle? 3. Do you believe that we have the capability to perform miracles like the ones Jesus did as chronicled in the Book of John? Share a story of a modern day miracle you've witnessed or heard about if you have one. Discuss: Here is a list of the seven miracles Jesus performs in John: 1. John 2: Water to wine at the wedding in Cana. 2. John 4: Healing the official's son. 3. John 5: A healing at the pool. 4. John 6: Jesus feeds 5,000 people. 5. John 6: Jesus walks on water. 6. John 9: Jesus heals the blind man. 7. John 11: Jesus resurrects Lazarareth from the dead. 4. Do you think Jesus was attempting to communicate a message about the Kingdom with the miracles he chose to perform? Pick one of the above miracles and discuss what you think we are supposed to learn from it. 5. Dan noticed that Jesus' miracles got progressively more impressive. Is there any significance to this observation? 6. Dan noted the significance of the number 7 throughout the Bible (think the book of Genesis and Creation.) Jesus performed seven miracles in the first half of John, then none until his resurrection. What message do you think we are meant to absorb by the numerical relation? Is it a coincidence? Challenge: 7. Each member of your group, choose one of the above miracles and resolve to find a way to affect someone's life positively this week in a similar way. 8. Go somewhere quiet this week. Read the Book of John. 9. Be funny. Catalyst is having a Comedy Night fundraiser on March 7th. Who is your group is funny enough to do 5 minutes of stand-up. Don't let that person wuss out.
