Food for People’s Hunger Fighter Challenge

Hunger Fighter Challenge

The Hunger Fighter Challenge is a friendly food drive competition among businesses and organizations in Humboldt County to help raise food for low-income households throughout our area. Catalyst Church are the defending champions of this competition winning the 2010 Hunger Fighter Challenge. Help us raise non-perishable foods such as canned protein (tuna, chicken), canned soups and chili, canned fruits, and canned vegetables to help feed families through the holiday season. Look at your food pantry, talk with your family and neighbors about donating, and bring in your donations each Sunday to Catalyst Church where someone from Food For People will be taking the donations to the food bank. Your involvement is especially important as economic downturn has taken an especially hard toll on folks this year; requests for food assistance have increased 40-50% compared to last year, and Food For People’s food supply has reached a critical low. That’s why the donations you gather this year are so important. The food bank is committed to providing help to an increasing number of people, and they rely on community support to help meet that need.
