1) Dan concluded that James had much information to give to the “12 tribes scattered” but he knew that he had to condense the information so it could be copied by hand and distributed. The book ends with multiple topics in rapid succession, being peppered out with pastoral challenges. Have you ever had a lot of information to communicate but restricted in the amount of content you were able to give; thus, leaving the reader unsure of the point(s) you were trying to make. (e.g. text, email, paper, report, application…) Give an example and a story.

2) Jokingly, Dan called the audience the “youtube generation” and gave 5 short sermons. Although he was being playful, do you find yourself learning more with short snippets of information?

3) “The American Dream SUCKS!” What do you think “sucks” about it and what do you think can be useful?

4) James 4:16-17 As it is, you are full of your grandiose selves. All such vaunting self-importance is evil. In fact, if you know the right thing to do and don’t do it, that, for you, is evil.

What is the right thing that YOU should do? How do you find this ‘right thing?’
