1) Do you have a favorite article of clothing? Why? 2) Can you think of a time you felt underdressed? Overdressed? 3) How do you feel about the implementation of dress codes in schools? What is their intended purpose? James 2: 1-4 My dear friends, don’t let public opinion influence how you live out our glorious, Christ-originated faith. If a man enters your church wearing an expensive suit, and a street person wearing rags comes in right after him, and you say to the man in the suit, “Sit here, sir; this is the best seat in the house!” and either ignore the street person or say, “Better sit here in the back row,” haven’t you segregated God’s children and proved that you are judges who can’t be trusted? 4) Have you ever found yourself judging others because of the way they were dressed? 5) Rachel asserted that the clothes she wears make her feel more or less confident in social situations. Do you share this sentiment? Share an example. 6) Have you ever been in a church that you felt catered to the more affluent? If so, how did that make you feel? 7) Take some time this week and observe people in a public place and gauge your reaction to them based on their dress. Pray about whether you should reassess the way you judge people based on their appearance. Discuss:

Local activist Betty Chinn is doing a clothing drive and is seeking donations. Her organization is NOT looking for your old clothes. Consider donating something you still would wear. Check out http://bettychinn.org/ for more info.
